A top-to-toe refurbishment of a 19th Century farm-worker’s cottage.

Along the road that winds through the village of Great Ryburgh, sits a red brick & flint farm-worker’s cottage.

Built in the mid-1800’s, the original cottages offered basic accommodation to the local farm workers and their families.

A brick house with a pitched roof, white window frames, and a small front yard with a wooden fence, potted plants, and a gravel pathway. There is a street sign indicating a speed limit of 30 mph and a utility pole with overhead wires. The sky is partly cloudy.
A dinner table set for four with plates, bowls, silverware, and glasses, illuminated by candles and a bottle of wine, in a cozy, dimly lit room.

When three became two.

Originally three cottages (the date when the three cottages became two is lost to the mists of time), in the late 1990’s the then owners of Birch Cottage bought the smaller cottage next door - now known as ‘Little Birch Cottage’.

We fell in love with the house and have spent a year rebuilding and refurbishing Little Birch Cottage as a holiday let, bringing everything bang up to date while retaining the charm and original features of the original building – and above all its welcoming warmth.

Meet your hosts, Jayne & Carl.

In the Summer of 2024, we relocated to North Norfolk, purchased this traditional cottage and set about renovating Little Birch.

Our goal, as living here has done for us, is to offer our guests the opportunity to slow down and relax for a while.

We look forward to welcoming you to Little Birch Cottage, and we really hope you use your time here to enjoy your own little slice of what North Norfolk has to offer.
